New Posting Rules.

Until recently we have allowed this to be an unregulated forum. That all changed when one of the more deranged and neurotic NIMBYs out there decided to repeatedly publish the phone number of a private citizen. Now don't say mean old Vernon decided to censor the forum. It was some mentally imbalanced person out there who ruined it for everybody else.

However, The El Toro Airport blogsite strongly encourages the South County NIMBYs to post early and often, so long as they are not cyberstalking. We will approve all comments that can follow that one simple rule.

Besides, the NIMBYs zealous hatred and class envy of Newport Beach makes for some great laughs at the local cocktail parties.

Next, since so few can make a good case for the Great Pork or against the airport, it only reinforces how wrong they are on the issue. They can sure hurl the insults, but rarely can discuss Just the Facts.

Bring it on ladies and gentlemen, we await your comments.

Vernon

Hello Vernon. Here's a few comments about your new posting rules, and how the vapid anti-El Toro International Airport NIMBYs fuss and fume. By denying instant gratificaton for their personal attacks and propadanda, they become unstable. By invoking moderation, you encourage visitors to spend more time reading your excellent articles, which they should do. With the old way, the NIMBYs would start an attack and the posts would flip flop back and forth often drifting away from the themes of your articles. Yes, the Nimbys class envy and zealous hatred of Newport Beach makes for good laughs in polite company. They can hurl the insults but they can't handle the facts in favor of El Toro International Airport. They'll be back because they hate us equally with El Toro International Airport. Turn on the lights, Vernon. Larry may betray his former allies whose politics he detests.

Vern; Unfortunately I have yet to see one "fact" on this blog presented by the NIMBY Beach crowd. Why don't you be the first to put some honesty into this discussion and admit that this entire battle had nothing to do with JWA capacity, SCAG projections, air travel needs or anything else beyond the fact that Newport saw their last and only chance to get rid of an unwanted, noisy neighbor known as the The Duke? And I don't think such catch phrases as "fuel saving crossed runways", "El Toro is green" (yet every other airport on the planet is out to poison us all) and the other brain storms spouted by your sycophantic NIMBY buddy hardly qualify as "facts" by any stretch of the imagination. Your desire to find a Diogenes might begin at home.

Well, Vernon, I had to look up the definition of cyberstalking on Google, and it doesn't bode well for NIMBY participation here. As far as I can tell, all they do is cyberstalk. They have a small set piece of lies against El Toro International Airport and then they stalk and stalk and stalk, attacking relentlessly truth publishers who love to go public with the truth for that which the NIMBYs hate. These are old Communist tricks, so I guess we can say Larry trained them well even though he hates them. I believe the NIMBYs will be back. You control the agenda, and they simply can't stand the truth about El Toro International Airport. I don't think Larry can stand them either, so that bodes well for a contract between Irvine and LAWA. Turn on the lights, Vernon. NIMBYs are pouting, but they'll snap out of it and return to "ethical" cyberstalking.

Geez Vern, Donald can't spell propaganda either. Are you both the products of the "elite" NIMBY Beach school system?

Anonymous said...

What a joke your web site is, Donald. It's pretty bad when you comment on your own articles. It doesn't get much worse that this.

Poor Donald, took his ball and went home.

anon said...

I laughed and laughed, and what a pleasure it was to see the Lone Nimby back with vengeance performing vital spell check chores, lecturing us on our lack of substance and hurling a few insults to boot. Turn on the lights, Vernan. Elite Newport Beach wants those fuel-saving cross runways put to use and there are 30 million annual passengers waiting in the wings.

Anonymous said...

Nice rebuttal Donald, you can't spell Vernon either. I can find illiterates on any street corner in Santa Ana, so I expect at least a marginal grasp of English from the "elite" of NIMBY Beach. Oh well, since you inherited the money who needs to learn to spell, right?

anon said...

The beauty of El Toro International Airport is that it has fuel-efficient cross runways pointing to where airplanes need to go, (east and north.) 60% of departures are on runway 7 to the east and 40% are to the north on runway 34. Landings are to the north on runway 34 over the industrial town of Aliso Viejo. Landings into Long Beach will return to their old approach over Huntington Beach Pier and turning northerly to land. The Great Park has preserved all runways, so when a contract with LAWA is signed, all they have to do is turn on the lights. Turn on the lights, Vernon. The FAA says all these landings and takeoffs are safe.

Anonymous said...

Gee Donald, it seems that since you have begun censoring your silly blog site, nobody has much to say anymore. Either that or you aren't publishing the ones you deem unworthy of public display.

Hmmm, I wonder what it could be?

Vernon Delights said...

709, fewer people are posting. I will publish any comment so long as they do not cyberstalk.

BTW, it's Vernon, not Donald who runs this site.

anon said...

It's good to see the Lone NIMBY back again to confront, smear and plant fear into anybody who supports El Toro International Airport. It doesn't work does it? Turn on the lights, Vernon. Millions of people are in favor of El Toro International Airport.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, sure it is. Is Vernon your alto ego, Donald?

Anonymous said...

Ah, Donald is one again deep into his daily El Tor delusions. Have a few facts for lunch Donald. The fatal flaw of El Toro International Airport is that it has fuel-efficient cross runways that have been called “the antithesis of modern airport design” repeatedly by the the air line pilot’s union, professionals who may actually understand the subject. 0% of departures are on runway 7 to the east and 0% are to the north on runway 34. No landings are to the north on runway 34 over the residential town of Aliso Viejo. 100% of all takeoffs and landings occur, and will occur, only at John Wayne Airport which is convenient, crowd free, lean, green, FAA appoved and will soon be fully operational 24/7. The FAA says the only way to make El Toro safe is keep it permanently closed, which is exactly the plan Irvine has in place. Delusional old NIMBY’s will not change a thing.

Better turn on those lights Vernon, there may be stalkers under Donald’s bed right now, right next to the Communists and the 30 million fantasy El Toro supporters. They might be afraid of the dark.

anon said...

1246, I knew the Lone NIMBY couldn't resist smearing El Toro International Airport. So he listens to a union boss instead of the FAA. Landings are to the north on runway 34, dummy. It's a long low straight in approach over the industrial town of Aliso Viejo. Takeoffs are to the north and the east. Stick with the airport that only one union doesn't like, but the FAA does like it. Problem solved. Future perfect. Turn on the lights, Vernon. American Airlines can stay at John Wayne Airport. Ha.

Anonymous said...

Donald, there is no problem as El Toro is closed and will stay that way. Now go fight your stalkers.

anon said...

651, Lone NIMBY is unstable. Posting here what should be posted there, because he doesn't know it yet when he posts. Turn on the lights, Vernon. Lone NIMBY is losing right and left, up and down and all around this fine website. He doesn't know the difference between Owner Vernon and one of the millions of supporters of El Toro International Airport.

Anonymous said...

"Posting here what should be posted there, because he doesn't know it yet when he posts." Good one Donald, that prize doesn't even qualify as nonsense. Can't spell, can't express a coherent thought, yet considers himself "elite". The average IQ of NIMBY Beach will go up by 50 points the day Donald dies.

And I certainly do know the difference between Owner Vernon and one of the millions of supporters of El Toro International Airport. Vern is a wannabe Rush Limbaugh, another NIMBY Beach egomaniac spouting his agenda of hate and class warfare, but at least he is real. Your "millions" of El Toro supporters are just the voices your head. Some of us can separate reality from fantasy.

anon said...

206, well, Lone NIMBY, as usual you are on the wrong side of reality. Millions of El Toro supporters do exist. They are not your fantasy. They are in the official SCAG Transportation Plan overwhelmingly adopted by SCAG member cities of SCAG member counties. Southern California Association of Governments can't be wrong. It uses the best planners in the world. It's 30 million annual passengers for El Toro, and there is nothing you can do about it. Some day you'll admit you worked for the wrong cause and you will welcome the re-opening of El Toro International Airport. You're like the propagandist who worked for the Cromwells who killed their king, and you'll go blind fighting a lost cause. Turn on the lights, Vernon. Welcome Rush Limbaugh to the next economics conference. He'll clean their clocks just as he did in Los Angeles. It's not nice to oppose the economy and El Toro International Airport.

Anonymous said...

SCAG can't be wrong? SCAG has constantly (wildly) overestimated airport demand in the region for the last 27 years. I have the FACTS right in front of me, which I would gladly post except FACTS mean nothing to you. A 5 year old with a Ouija board is more accurate than SCAG forecasts.

Those 30 million passengers don't exist except in the minds of government officials trying to justify their favorite pork projects, and senile old NIMBY's who still cling to the fantasy of El Toro International airport.

Reality is JWA 24/7 coming soon. Have your 30 million imaginary friends yell real loud each time a jet flies over Casa de Delusional to help drown out the noise. Those us living near the Great Park will be sleeping like babies in blissful silence.

anon said...

824, like the propagandist working for the Cromwells who killed their king, you'll go blind fighting the lost cause against El Toro International Airport. Only a brainwashed NIMBY or an overpaid hack could disagree with the official estimates for El Toro of 30 million annual passengers. SCAG can't be wrong. It's estimate was approved by the official votes of official delegates of SCAG from member counties in Southern California. That's a majority, and the majority always is right. Remember your precious Measure W? The majority snookered you out of El Toro and gave it to a city. The airport still is there and all we have to do is turn on the lights. Turn on the lights, Vernon. Lone NIMBY refuses to abide by majority rule with SCAG's 30 million annual passengers at El Toro International Airport.

anon said...

Lone Nimby feels that SCAG was wrong when it estimated 30 million annual passengers for El Toro International Airport. This is unfortunate because the 30 million annual passengers don't go away simply becase Nimby doesn't like it. The only way to reduce demand is to pass a law saying people can't fly, but I don't think, indeed I know for sure, Nimby does not have that power. Turn on the lights, Vernon. El Toro International Aiport is waiting in the wings.

Anonymous said...

Wow Donald, it seems that since you've started censoring comments the only one posting on here is you. I guess you really showed everybody who the boss is, huh?

Viva la Duke!

anon said...

Yes, Vernon Cinco de Mayo celebrations take care of South County which got low priced housing. And then there is the Lone Nimby who celebrated May 5th also. Turn on the lights, Vernon. 30 million annual passengers are waiting in the wings. Your blog is all the rage among pro-El Toro International Airport boosters. Perception is reality.

anon said...

The beauty of El Toro International Airport is that it will be used by the very NIMBYs who oppose it. The current dearth of NIMBY posters only is because they are denied instant gratification of posting hate, filth, silly arguments and cyber stalking. Apparently hate, filth and silly arguments are still allowed, but the delay makes them unstable and they shut down and pout and pout. Welcome back, Lone NIMBY. NIMBYs are not good at psychological warfare. They need everything of like mind. That is why they hate this website, the only pro-El Toro International Airport media, which explains why they are afraid of it. Turn on the lights, Vernon. We'll show those NIMBYs a thing or two. Perception is reality, and 30 million annual passengers can't be wrong.

Anonymous said...

Donald, I just love it when you comment on your own blogs. I guess you have to when no one else is saying anything positive about your fantasy airport. I also love the way you continue to lie and spew hatred towards South County.

Long live the Duke cause El Toro will never fly again.

anon said...

427, hooray the Lone Nimby is back from Cinco de Mayo. You seem enirely too certain when you say El Toro will never fly again. At least you admit it is an airport, where all we have to do is turn on the lights. The airport can be opened by many means, and I would like to know how you came up with your statement that it will never fly again. Turn on the lights, Vernon. This Nimby is entirely too certain to be correct about an airport that was made by God and the runways were paved by the Marines, and the Devil made them pollute it so that nothing but the airport can ever be there.

anon said...

You can be sure El Toro International Airport is on track for early re-opening when the Nimbys pout and can't tolerate a modicum of delay in posting hate, filth and class warfare against elite Newport Beach. One of the weapons in their silly arsenal was to lurk around fine websites such as Vernon's and jump in with hate, filth and lies as soon as positive El Toro news was posted. The next time an issue such as this arises, maybe they will chose the correct side. Stop cyberstalking and cyber bullying. Turn on the lights, Vernon. Nimbys can't tolerate curtailment of stalking and bullying. El Toro International Airport, Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.

Anonymous said...

Poor Donald, since you started our new posting rules, nobody has much to say about your dream of an airport. Not even Myth maker posts here any more. What a joke.

anon said...

847, flyingmythbuster will be back when you post another sample of ignorance against cutting the corner over Irvine or downwind uphill takeoffs into rising terrain. I see you admit Vernon is not me by referring to "our" posting rules istead of "your" posting rules. But in the world of misinformation you still don't know if me is me. Thank God for this fine website and for creating El Toro International Airport where the Marines paved the runways and the Devil made them pollute it so only the airport can be there. Turn on the lights, Vernon. I've got a red eye to catch. Bullying and stalking are reminescent of effete Measure W.

Anonymous said...

Poor Donald indeed. Millions of (imaginary) El Toro supporters, 30 million (imaginary) passengers waiting, but not a single one of them bothers to post a single word of support.

I believe the best way to kill this stupid blog once and for all is simply to ignore it. Obviously Donald and Vern constitute the entire pro- El Toro universe at least among living, breathing real people. Why continue to try to interject a rational dialog with either of these hate-filled, class-warfaring old NIMBY's? Once the anti-airport forces return our quiet lives in bucolic South County there will only Donald and Vern to do whatever is they do together in their closet. Let this blog die a fast and quiet death as no one else cares any more. If you played football you would be the perennial Mr. Irrelevant.

Have a good life Donald, and keep flailing away at your El Toro windmill. And when the time comes I hope you are buried in the center of your beloved, but soon the be removed, obsolete and useless crossed runways. Then you can enjoy the Great Park for all eternity. But until then your can share the joy of JWA 24/7 buzzing over Casa de Delusional.

anon said...

Anti-El Toro International Airport NIMBYS simply can not ignore this fine pro-Airport website because it speaks the truth and NIMBYS know only how to lie. NIMBYS can't stand this blog, so they return over and over again hoping to cause harm as they do by using other airports. Turn on the lights, Vernon. We've hooked a great big NIMBY and he can't get off the hook until we throw him back. El Toro International Airport. Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.

Anonymous said...

1251, I like what you say except one two small things. First, Vern is Donald and Donald is Vern. Second, when Donald Vern dies I think his ashes should be scattered over JWA. What could be more fitting that that?

anon said...

Now that we know that a big 4.7 earthquake can strike within a stone's throw of Los Angeles International Airport and now that we know that both LAX and our local airport both are built on soil subject to liquefaction, it is more important than ever to open El Toro International Airport which is built on firm soil. Turn on the lights, Vernon. Nimbys have lost every argument to date, and they have lost this one too.

Anonymous said...

Nice try, Donald, but any earthquake that will knock out LAX, Long Beach and our beloved Duke would also destroy El Toro's fantasy airport.

By the way, since when did you become an expert on geology and earthquakes? I always thought you were just an engineer at Boeing.

Viva la Duke, even after the big one hits.

anon said...

1217, El Toro International Airport is built on firm ground, dummy. Apparently you can't read either. El Toro is the only airport that can survive the big one.

Now that El Toro is being spun off to executives of Lennar it will be easier than ever to take over Irvine and open the airport. Turn on the lights, Vernon. We've got an airport to open and a NIMBY to show he was wrong all along.

anon said...

They wondered how I knew El Toro was being given to a new bunch with absolute control that wants to make money with the base. I told them read the newspapers. Now I'm waiting for it to show up in Salem-News.com and ElToroNow.com. Then I'll know El Toro International Airport soon will be open. Thank you Vernon, for this website of truth and NIMBYs.

Anonymous said...

Hey Donald, I read the newspapers, too. Guess what they say? Demolition on your beloved fuel saving, crossed runways that point to where airplanes want to go starts in just a couple of months! I guess you'll be crying yourself to sleep now, huh? Does that mean you'll close this silly blog site?

anon said...

1155, well, the Lone Nimby has returned. It's hard to tell which he hates more, this blog or El Toro International Airport with fuel saving cross runways pointing to where airplanes want to go. God made El Toro Airport. The Marines paved the runways, and the Devil made them pollute it so the airport is the only use for El Toro. Demolition is an act of faith among anti-El Toro International Airport NIMBYs. No doubt you didn't read, or didn't want to read, in your beloved newspaper story that any demolition must be approved by the State of California and the Federal Government. Care to guess if such approvals will happen? We need El Toro International Airport for regional airport demand and security against airport killer earthquakes. You shouldn't rush into posting so recklessly. Turn on the lights, Vernon. The new owners of El Toro want to make some money. Never underestimate the resolve of those in favor of El Toro International Airport. Measure W and Great Park are toast.

Anonymous said...

No Donald, what's toast is your fantasy of an El Toro International airport. Buttered and with jam on it.

anon said...

856, wake up and smell the coffee. Measure W is toast. Great Park is a white elephant. El Toro International Airport just might be the greatest airport in Southern California. Turn on the lights, Vernon. 30 million annual passengers are waiting in the wings. NIMBYs need butter and jam. Coffee smells good.

Anonymous said...

Donald, I prefer English muffins with honey. I took my mug of coffee (with cream) over to El Toro the other day, along with my camera, and took lost of pictures of the demolition crews and rubble piles. What was most incredible was the huge piles of broken up concrete and asphalt from the taxi ways. Seeing all the activity of the beginnings of the Great Park made my coffee taste that much better. Would you like copies of the pictures I took? I'd be happy send them to you if you like.

By the way, Measure W stands, no airport at El Toro.....EVER! Pull your head out.

Gotta go, Donald, I need a coffee refill.

anon said...

732, there you are dreaming about a park when it's an airport you're looking at. Wake up and smell the coffee. Great Park is a white elephant. Measure W is toast. Measure F is unconstitutional. Measure S lost at the polls. Measure A won. Support El Toro International Airport, loser. Turn on the lights, Vernon. This NIMBY needs Smart Water.
