09/11

I see this giant American flag everyday from my home in Newport Beach. I love living in a patriotic pro American city. Today is 09/11 and this is a day of solemn reflection for America and a time to honor those who perished on that dark day and a time to honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms.

Unfortunately, there are some evil anti El Toro International Airport NIMBYs out there who think 09/11 is the greatest thing to have ever happened. After that tragedy, they rejoiced that the public would be scared of airports. 09/11 (temporarily) turned the momentum against an airport in their favor.

At the time, people were so terrified of airports and jets that they would have even voted to turn El Toro into a giant landfill, homeless shelter, or prison. 09/11 also put the airline industry into a slump as people were afraid to fly. At the time a NIMBY could state there was a lack of demand. However, that was a half truth. They failed to mention that someday the airline industry would rebound and Orange County would indeed need additional capacity. NIMBYs are not exactly forward thinkers and have no forward vision. They only parrot the talking points of the Agranista Machine.

It was not a fair fight for an airport to have a vote not even 6 months after 09/11. If the vote were held today, the airport would win hands down as people would see they have been scammed.

The Great Pork is simply an imaginary boondoggle to have in place of the airport. In 2009, the park is all of 27 acres and has blown through over $100 million. Then it is getting hit left and right with both internal and external lawsuits. The latest plaintiff is Forrest Lawn Mortuary. Wouldn't it be fitting if they were the ones to put the the final nail in the coffin of The Great Pork.

Wow Donald, this new pile is a new low even for you. You are one sick bastard if you really think anyone that voted against an airport at El Toro cheered the attacks on 9/11. By your previous words we all assumed you were an idiot, with this latest post we all now know it.

God bless those that perished on that tragic day eight years ago and God bless our service members standing in harms way today.

And may God forgive you your lies, idiocy and total lack of class or compassion.

We're all laughing at you, Donald, but we also feel sorry for what a truly pathetic sad sack you are.

What an excellent call to patriotism, Vernon, on this 1st National Day of Service, denouncing those who voted for Measure W in the wake of the attack on the World Trade Center on 09/11. We know the NIMBYs for what they are. They voted for a temporary delay in the opening of El Toro International Airport. They thought they were voting to kill it, but really it was just a delay. No amount of voting can eliminate this fine international airport because it is there. By turning it over to an easy to defeat city, the Great Park is suffering demise, and Forest Lawn Mortuary's lawsuit may drive the final nail into the coffin of the park and open El Toro International Airport which is totally compatible with a cemetery.

909, Lone Nimby posts too soon to fight the link between 09/11 and yes on Measure W. Clearly, yes on W voters were afraid of El Toro International Airport when they voted. Only south county cities voted against the airport and for the park. Cities in the north voted for the airport. There must have been election fraud in the south. Turn on the lights, Vernon. Bad 09/11 passed Measure W. It's time for yes voters to give back.

909,

first of all, get over your obsession that I am Donald Nyre. He favors closing John Wayne, I do NOT!

Next please re-read my original post. I stated that SOME of the anti airport NIMBYs are glad that 09/11 happened. The fact that you were so offended by that post indicates possible guilt on your part.

The fact is, 09/11 was a huge factor in the public not being in the mood for an airport not even 6 months later. Whether it was in Orange County or Peoria, Illinois, the public was afraid of flying at that time.

233, great come back and put down of 909, Vernon. I hear HE wants reparations for every commercial flight that has ever departed over Newport Beach. Of course that doesn't apply to El Toro International Airport. That airport was a military airport before the NIMBYs moved in. Turn on the lights, Vernon. You've got them on the run, and they are totally confused.

Donald, nice try but the previous vote, the one that got thrown out, won, too, and that was BEFOR 9/11. You claim that some cheered 9/11, show us! You lied then and you lie now, and why is it that you are the only one posting positive comments here? Kind of strange, don't you think?

Time to get a life, Donald, El Toro is ancient history just like you.

It's nice to live in a patriotic town where the flag flys high and mighty. That's why Newport Beach is elite and Lone Nimby is filled with hate, jealousy and insults. People voted for the measure that got thrown out because they didn't want toxic waste dumps and jails put in their neighbohoods. That's why it got thrown out. They wanted El Toro International Airport, just as they do now. Turn on the lights, Vernon. Irvine is stuck with toxic waste dumps, but the airport is ready to open.

Oh Donald, get over yourself. I'm not hateful and of you I'm certainly not jealous. Why should I be, I live in beautiful CDM with an ocean view, I know you don't have one. Hmmmm, I guess that would make you jealous of me, now wouldn't it?

Turn on the lights, Vernon, JWA's going 24/7!

615, there you are, Lone Nimby, fighting on the wrong side of the wrong war. Fact is, people don't want toxic waste dumps and jails in their neighborohoods, but Irvine has both of them. El Toro International Airport will be a big improvement. Turn on the lights, Vernon. El Toro International Airport is wanted, needed, safe and green.

Americans Dead: 3000

Jobs Lost: Millions

Economic Loss: Billions

NIMBYs getting El Toro shut down:
PRICELESS!

732, El Toro International Airport is wanted, needed, FAA approved, safe and politically viable. 911 simply turned the airport over to Irvine for opening, so the NIMBY warriors lost the war and got their just desserts. Turn on the lights, Vernon. We've got to help Irvine earn big money.
