It takes a pig to deliver the pork

After many tries, the Great Pork finally got some tax dollars. Irvine made this shameless grab for federal money despite the incessant lies they told during the infamous Great Pork campaign that NO TAXES would be required! North County did not buy that load of pig crap and soundly rejected Measure W. But the South County NIMBYs who were brainwashed and traumatized by irrational fear of El Toro fell for the Irvine lies and passed Measure W during a low turnout election.

The hangar that is being "refurbished" with this nearly half million in federal pork is to "honor aviation history" no less. Irvine is the same city that spent millions of dollars convincing the public that airports, airplanes, The Navy, The Marine Corps, pilots, baggage handlers, cargo, passengers, Newport Beach, North County, L.A., and anyone who even thinks about aviation is EVIL! Oh the irony!

After Irvine was rejected twice at the ballot box to use state taxdollars for their utterly frivolous budget busting great pork, Comrad Barbie Boxer came to the rescue for Comrad Agran and delivered some pork. In addition, while Boxer visited El Toro she put her ignorance on public display about the military, by calling El Toro an "Air Force Base".

But being the commie she is, she hates the military and any trace of it. She also has no respect the for businesses that make this country prosperous. It is them, NOT the wealth redistributing government bureaucrats that make America great. Then Comrad Boxer had the gall in 2004 to challenge the election results of George W. Bush who was the rightful winner. She is an embarrassment to our fine state. No wonder why she and Agran are political soul mates.

In the future, Irvine might not get so lucky with federal pork from the taxpayers. A big thanks is due to Oklahoma Senator Coburn for exposing the great pork to the entire nation for the scam that it is. Then as long as the Demorats keep racking up deficits and raising taxes on the real wealth producers and job creators of this country, they will surely be voted out next election. The stock market has not exactly improved since they gained control of Washington D.C.

Timidity does not get us very far in Orange County.

Take a look at this great ad by Cessna. They encourage business executives to be bold. These are the people who produce wealth and create jobs in the first place. Their time is valuable and they do not have time to use public transit aircraft and share limited runway space and airspace, most especially in Orange County.

I have always stated that John Wayne should be for private aircraft to primarily serve the business community while El Toro International Airport would serve the flying public and cargo. So lets put to rest the tired old conspiracy theory incessantly repeated by brainwashed NIMBYs that wealthy Newport Beach special interests just want to move the noise 7 miles down the road.

The fact is, we do not want to have our homes and businesses condemned here to enlarge the size of John Wayne which rests on a mere 500 acres. It does not take a PhD in economics to figure out that it is far more expensive to buy out a prestigious area like Newport Beach then it would be to simply turn on the lights at the 4700 acre El Toro Airport. Besides, the Great Pork is not making much progress and will not anytime soon due to reliance on Lennar and the public trough which is running dry.

Most of those so bitterly opposed to El Toro hate Newport Beach far more than they love their own children. The class warfare activist NIMBYs who are anti business radical environmentalist wealth confiscators, have no idea how to run a business. They got deep discounts on their homes because of the military jets and many of which were financed by sub prime loans, designed for people who have no business owning a home in the first place.

These anti-business radicals sign the back of a check far more often than they sign the front of a check. They do not know about wealth being produced. They only know about socialist redistribution and class warfare against those who provide the jobs.

If the NIMBYs wanted a better future for their children they would support economic engines like El Toro which would pump billions into the economy and create jobs. The Great Pork may get some porkulus from the federal government. But that will only aid a select few on the park board and will not help the economy and the children of the uninformed NIMBYs who suffer from a decade plus of Agran led brainwashing.

Then we have the Bush tax cuts which could expire thanks to Obama's not so centrist economic policies. This will mean fewer, not more jobs will be created. Should the top tax rate actually increase from 35% to 39.6% this will be another $46,000 in punitive taxes for every million dollars of wealth created.

This same $46,000 could provide a job for someone who would spend money and truly stimulate the local economy. Otherwise, by the time the government gets done confiscating and redistributing the wealth, there is little left that reaches the local level. Dollar for dollar, businesses create more jobs than government does. In addition private sector jobs are based on supply and demand not make work jobs to create more Democrats.

The Laguna Beach City Council is clueless again!

First, the city of Laguna Beach was snookered by the city of Irvine into wasting millions of tax dollars into opposing El Toro. Irvine lied to them and tricked them into thinking that jets from El Toro would go over their city, which they would not.

However, once John Wayne flights increased, there were howls of protest out of Laguna Beach about this. What poetic justice that was! You see folks, flights from John Wayne actually do go over Laguna Beach! Imagine that! Today, Irvine has a worthless great pork that provides very little economic stimulus, unlike an airport would, and is of no benefit to the clueless denizens of Laguna Beach.

Now Laguna Beach is clueless again, and wants to go against the will of California voters and overturn proposition 8, which bans gay marriage. It is well known that Laguna Beach is full of liberals and those who practice alternative lifestyles. I really don't care, so long as they keep it to themselves and away from Newport Beach. Heck they can open more gay bars for all I care. But they should not go around trying to redefine marriage, which is a centuries long tradition between a man and a woman. The majority of the state does not share Laguna Beach's "values".

Nyre is on Fire! Keep them letters coming!

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am finally back from a long vacation where I traveled on my yacht. I did not have regular access to the internet. Thus, this blog was not maintained regularly. But judging by the participation on here by our audience, El Toro is alive and well in the hearts and minds of everybody. If it was really dead as the NIMBYs so wrongly claim, they would not be on here incessantly spreading more lies and class warfare. Economic necessity along with the failure of the great pork dictates that the re-opening of El Toro International Airport is only a matter of time. Resistance is futile.

Anyhow, here is a great letter that appeared in the Daily Pilot by the great Donald Nyre reminding Daily Pilot readers of the need for El Toro. As a traveling businessman, I do not feel that John Wayne should die on the vine entirely, and should remain open for private aircraft, while the flying public makes use of the much larger El Toro facilities. 10,000 foot runways and a 4700 acre base are better suited for such purposes.

As one whose time is valuable, I prefer to fly privately and not be forced to share the runways and airspace with the masses. I also would not be willing to share Newport Harbor with commercial passenger ships. It is nice to have my own boat space to come and go as I please. One day John Wayne Airport will also be that way.

Here’s an idea: Let JWA die on the vine

Local activists’ eloquent pleas for a regional solution to air traffic demand wisely point out that John Wayne Airport already is the second largest provider of service in the Los Angeles area behind LAX, (“Better transportation solution to airport woes,” Jan. 21.)

They point out that 30% of users are vacationers, and if better surface transportation were available, people could land at some airport out in the sticks and ride the train to their destinations.

Ontario Airport ranks high on the list of airports out in the sticks that does not attract customers, because it does not have a train connecting the airport to tourist destinations of Anaheim and Newport Beach. As long as there is LAX or JWA, passengers will continue to use them, with, or without, a train.

Los Angeles opened Ontario as a reliever airport when LAX is fogged in.

It was not intended to be a destination airport. Similarly, I have been denied landing at San Diego’s Lindbergh Field and had to land at Ontario. Of course we all hated it because we wanted to land in San Diego.

By contrast to airports out in the sticks, Los Angeles has its eye on the closed El Toro International Airport, which is in an area with a proven track record for attracting passengers. I believe a regional solution to our air transportation problem is to open El Toro International Airport, let Los Angeles run it, and let dinky John Wayne Airport die on the vine.

LAWA Money Could Clean up El Toro!

The Register featured an article about the toxic waste at El Toro and gave mention to two great websites in the process.
www.eltoronow.com and www.salem-news.com
This will surely generate lots of publicity about why a Great Pork is the least acceptable use of a former military airport. During the previous El Toro debates, Emperor Agran and his merry band of NIMBYs were saying the land was "too toxic" for an airport.....but would like us to believe it is clean enough for park and residential uses. PLEASE!

Los Angeles World Airports has previously offered the Navy 2 billion dollars to lease El Toro and 300 million to the Navy to clean it up. Instead the property was sold to Lennar for pennies on the dollar and they are still bleeding money like crazy. The fact is the real estate market has a glut of housing, especially here in Orange County. Adding even more houses will not dig Lennar out of its predicament.

However, selling or leasing the El Toro property to Los Angeles World Airport Authority will reverse Lennar's downward slide. We are talking about a potential multi billion dollar stimulus package from Los Angeles. Don't look for this kind of help from the Obama administration and Washington D.C. as Orange County is Republican Country!

Re-opening El Toro International Airport will get the base cleaned up, create 90,000 jobs, result in shorter commutes, cheaper fares, and take cargo trucks off the road to LAX. There would even be plenty of land for Larry Agran to finally realize his dream of a Great Park.

In addition, there will be an increase in economic activity and these new jobs will create more demand for housing and raise everyone's property values. Otherwise, adding thousands of new homes on a superfund site no less without an accompanying economic catalyst like an airport will further retard local economic growth.

Its only a matter of time.......

Someday Orange County will have a similar problem that happened at Denver International Airport where a jet skidded off the runway. Ironically it was a Continental Airlines jet, where Chris Cox's wife Rebecca Cox works as an executive. What we have here is one spouse who is an airport obstructer and a failed Wall Street regulator, while the other works for the airline industry. That is about as strange of a relationship as James Carville being married to Mary Matalin.

Fortunately, there were no fatalities in Denver. While it is terrible that some people were injured during the holiday season, at least they are still alive. It helped that Denver has long runways and large amount of open space in the surrounding area.....kind of like what we have right here in Orange County with the now idle El Toro International Airport.

Instead we are only using John Wayne with its dinky 5700 foot runway on a mere 500 acres. It is only a matter of time before a jets rolls off the runway onto the Corona Del Mar Freeway and explodes into a fireball and there are few if any survivors.
While some nasty NIMBYs would find it amusing for an explosion to hit Newport Beach, will they find it so amusing if at least half the victims on that jet are their fellow South County NIMBYs? So you NIMBYs out there you really should rethink your irrational opposition to El Toro. After all, the life you save someday may be your own!

The fact is John Wayne is really just a blivet, a World War II military term which means "cramming ten pounds of manure in a five-pound bag".
What we have here folks is a tiny airport with nearly 1,000 daily operations with turboprops, jets, and small planes crammed into one setting.

Since I do live in Newport Beach, I will surely be accused of wanting "to shift the noise 7 miles down the road". Blah blah blah! I got news for you, there was already noise from much louder military jets to begin with. What did the South County denizens think they were moving near? A monastery? Also, I am near the Balboa Beach area so the jets at worst are mostly white noise in my area, so noise is hardly an issue to me and I have no need to move it.

I support El Toro because it would be a job creator and an economic catalyst for Orange County. Also, corporate jets with business executives whose time is precious should not be competing for airport space and air space with the traveling masses.

Small charter jets are suitable for John Wayne and commercial jets belong at the much larger El Toro. There are private golf courses for the select few and there are public courses for everyone else. That is how John Wayne and El Toro should work.

I also grow tired of the bitter hateful class warfare NIMBYs from South County who want John Wayne expanded, even though they supposedly grounded El Toro. If they had actually won, why do they keep fighting?

They never did care about the great pork. They just want to expand John Wayne so that can condemn Newport Beach homes and wipe us off the map. We are like Israel where we have hostile neighbors who want to push us into the sea. One can either spend their life being a jealous hater or one can spend their life pursuing success and bettering their financial status.

If these irrational NIMBYs actually made an objective cost analysis between using the existing 3700 acres and already built and paid for aviation infrastructure at El Toro versus sinking 4.5 billion (in 1998 dollars) to double the size of John Wayne, they would see El Toro is a no brainer economically and capacity wise. The great news is Los Angeles World Airports would foot the bill for El Toro conversion. Unlike John Wayne expansion this does not put O.C. taxpayers at risk. Let's show Los Angeles our support and finally move into the 21st century.

El Toro NIMBYs Gored at Ballotbox!

North County has Montezuma's Revenge, but South County suffers from Eltoro's Revenge! By not re-opening El Toro International Airport for business, this has put a curse on the NIMBYs. They have fewer job opportunities, fewer destinations, higher fares, and farther drives to catch a flight. Due to their irrational hatred and class envy of Newport Beach spread by Irvine socialists, they incessantly bang the drum for John Wayne 24/7. However, I got news for them, John Wayne only has a mere 500 acres and contains no room for expansion. It will never be nothing more than a dinky airport incapable of helping Orange County realize its true potential.

Other curses for keeping El Toro closed include very bad luck at the ballot box for the loud mouth NIMBY politicians who seek re-election or aspire for higher office. We now present an analysis of different races. Yes, this is more than a month after the most recent election. However, some races were very close and not certified until very recently.

Propositions:

Prop 1A - unfortunately it barely passed.
However, Orange County will be the very LAST area to get any stations built.
High Speed Rail is NOT a substitute for El Toro! Orange County passengers will still have to battle thick traffic to drive out of county to catch planes or trains.

Prop 8 - COWAN COWED!
Payback to Costa Mesa turncoat Libby Cowan!
Revenge is a dish best served cold!

Prop 10 - DEFEATED!
No bond money for Irvine! There will only be greater pressure upon Irvine taxpayers to finance Larry Agran's Great Pork! Surely bankruptcy will follow, where only an airport ran by L.A. can save the city.

Candidates:

Congress 46th District: - DEBBIE DOES DEFEAT!

This race featured staunch conservative and unwavering El Toro supporter Dana Rohrabacher defending his seat against the ultra-radical leftist Huntington Beach mayor and Measure W sponsor Debbie Cook. There are no other candidates out there with such stark contrasts. Since Obamamania swept the country, this was the Dems best and only chance to pull an upset in Orange County and take a congressional seat.

However, there was one major problem for Mrs. Debbie Cook. She wanted to represent Costa Mesa and Santa Ana Heights which overwhelmingly voted NO on Measure W! We Newport Mesa residents grow tired of hearing from the whiny class warfare activists from South County who want to shove Newport Mesa into the sea. Mrs. Cook chose to align herself with people who ruthlessly and bitterly hate our region. As a Newport Beach resident, I could not pull the lever for Dana and against Debbie. But I am quite pleased with her defeat.

The entire 46th district voted against Larry Agran's Great Pork scam. Besides being too liberal for the district, Cook's views on El Toro were clearly out of the mainstream. She will NEVER even get elected to so much as dogcatcher as long as her would be district includes any sizable portion of Newport Mesa.

Judge of the Superior Court Office No. 12 - MARSH MASHED!

Though Kermit Marsh was the more conservative judicial candidate, we are pleased to see him soundly defeated. He reportedly urged the OCRAA (Orange County Regional Airport Authority) to disband right after the misleading and fraudulent Measure W vote passed by a narrow margin in a low turnout election. The South County-appeasing surrender monkey gets crushed at the ballot box anyways!

COAST COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT Governing Board Member, Trustee Area 3
-RUIZ RUINED!

Larry Agran pal and fellow con artist could not even muster 37% of the vote to retain his trustee seat. It is rare when a trustee is so soundly defeated. However, Mr. Ruiz had it coming as his name regularly appeared on the anti El Toro propaganda trash spewing from Irvine that ended up in people's mailboxes. Like Debbie Cook, Armando Ruiz was also shown some payback for being such an anti El Toro puppet in an overwhelmingly pro El Toro district!

Fountain Valley - GUS GUTTED!

Incumbent Gus Ayer failed to retain his city council seat and in fact finished dead last! He was overconfident of re-election and instead spent his time working on fellow socialist Debbie Cook's failed congressional campaign. Looks like Mr. Ayer forgot to mind the store and got robbed of his own seat.

On the conservative OC Blog, Mr. Ayer was exposed as being too liberal for conservative Fountain Valley. In addition, Ayer was a Great Pork lackey. Fountain Valley voted 60-40 not to support Agran's Abomination. So Ayer was clearly out of step with his constituents and they showed him the door.

The People's republic of Irvine -
Ship of fools retained by gullible sheep!

We endorsed the Larry Agran slate and sure enough the loony Irvine voters retained them despite massive cost overruns and rampant mismanagement with the Great Pork. You see folks, when a city is so thoroughly infested with socialists and gay pride activists they do not care about what their leaders do! The lemmings so blindly tow the party line. Its only a matter of time before Irvine has a municipal bankruptcy and Los Angeles takes over El Toro!

CITY OF LAGUNA BEACH - Cheryl Shredded!

Strident anti El Toro NIMBY and ETRPA (El Toro Reuse Planning Authority) board member Cheryl Kinsman finishes dead last! Perhaps the voters of Laguna Beach have woken up and seen that they have been fleeced by the city of Irvine. Kinsman convinced the Lagunaites to finance Irvine's frivolous El Toro fight and all Laguna Beach residents got for it was a lame 27 acre park way over budget that puts taxpayers at risk. Unlike Irvine voters, they can actually see they have been hoodwinked by the Agranistas!

CITY OF LOS ALAMITOS - Parker Punked!

Ken Parker failed to retain his city council seat. He is listed as a Great Pork lackey by the Great Pork board. This did not go over terribly well in a city that voted 2-1 against Measure W. Plus the citizens of Los Alamitos are tired of hearing from self serving South County NIMBYs asking for the military to be kicked out of the reserve air base so that they can have cheap flights. At El Toro, the military is already gone. Use that place for cheap flights instead! That's a no brainer!

CITY OF TUSTIN - Jeffrey Jinxed!

Jeffrey Thompson failed to retain his council seat. That is because his name appeared on anti El Toro propaganda hit pieces spewing from Irvine. This especially does not play too well in a city where John Wayne flights go over.

Yes Tustin foolishly voted for Measure W. But at the time, they actually thought they would get a world class park and had no idea that South County NIMBYs would clamor for revenge with JWA 24/7, as opposed to simply being happy El Toro has been grounded.

You see folks, The Nasty Neurotic NIMBYs will never truly be happy until they can use JWA as a way to launch class warfare against Newport Beach. The angry left does not care about a world class park or about innocent bystanders from their scorched earth policy, they want revenge, and they want it now! The vitriolic mean spirited postings from the class warfare warriors on this site proves it!

MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT OF ORANGE COUNTY Director, Division 7 -
Whipple Whipped!

Former Laguna Niguel councilman and anti El Toro NIMBY Mike Whipple was defeated in his quest to become a waterboy! Oh what a shame! All that money and all those hours spent in futility railing against the twice approved El Toro International Airport and his fellow NIMBYs showed him no love at the ballot box. Perhaps, they have woken up and saw that he was just a lackey for the Agranistas and did not have their best interests in mind.
